Web-based video publishing VideoEgg Inc. partnered with social networking sites Bebo, Dogster, Hi5, AOL, Current.tv and Tagged to add video capabilities within these communities.

Members of these social networking communities can now post video content to the site. The VideoEgg publisher platform is a small browser plug-in that lets users capture, encode, upload and share video online.

This comes at a time when posting online video is multiplying exponentially on social networking places like MySpace and through hosts like YouTube.

Videos posted with the VideoEgg publisher platform are uploaded to the VideoEgg content delivery network, a geographically distributed network of 20,000 servers powered by Akamai Technologies.

Uploaded videos are immediately available for viewing through the Flash-based VideoEgg Player, which does not require external player software such as Windows Media or QuickTime.
