VideoEgg is looking for a senior UNIX/Linux software developer. This person will be responsible for creating and maintaining the web services and back-end infrastructure needed to run our customer and partner systems.
• Experience designing and developing distributed, high volume, 24/7 services
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle
• Able to work independently, both on new and legacy software systems
• Mentor and coach other members of the software development staff
• Take a lead role in department code reviews and design sessions
• Resolve production software issues in conjunction with the system administration and development staff
• 5+ years experience of PHP and/or other web application development language
• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and the HTTP protocol
• Experience developing web applications in a Unix/Linux-based environment
• Good knowledge of object oriented design and design patterns
• Direct experience developing large scale, web-based applications
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database structures
• Familiarity with web services (SOA, REST, SOAP, etc.)
• Experience with at least one scripting language
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
